Course 213 – May 14, 2026

The Chapter is pleased to present Course 213 – Conflict Management in conjunction with the AGM held on May 14th, 2026, in Fredericton, NB.

Course Description

This course provides focused strategies towards establishing collaborative solutions to minimize potential negative aspects of conflict and maximize successful outcomes that strive to resolve conflict. During this course, participants will learn how effective conflict management can open doors to healthier workplace relationships and more productive working relationships with both property owners as well as the general public.

INSTRUCTORS:

Colleen Brown is a real estate infrastructure consultant with over 30 years of expertise in property services, infrastructure projects and transportation development.

She is a former Director with the Property Services Branch with the Department of Transportation & Infrastructure for the Province of New Brunswick where she led a multidisciplinary team responsible for capital construction programs in transportation & infrastructure.

Colleen previously held the AACI, P. App. Designation with the Appraisal Institute of Canada and served as Chair of the Committee of Examiners for the New Brunswick Association of Real Estate Appraisers (NBAREA).  

Colleen is a CLIMB certified instructor with the International Right of Way Association (IRWA) and has held numerous chapter and regional leadership positions in the Association as well as served on the Canadian Right of Way Education foundation executive.  She was a previous Chair of the International Ethics Committee and co-authored the course “Elevating Your Ethical Awareness” as well as  served on the International Relations Committee which promotes collaboration and inclusivity globally. 

Sharon N. Slauenwhite, SR/WA, BA, Sharon Slauenwhite is a real property specialist with over 35 years of experience in real property law and public infrastructure across both the private and public sectors, complemented by service on a rural municipal council.

She is the Manager of Provincial Property for the P.E.I. Department of Transportation, Infrastructure and Energy, where she leads initiatives that support government priorities and advance safe, cost‑effective public infrastructure for Island residents.

Sharon holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Prince Edward Island and a certificate in Public Sector Leadership. She has completed IRWA courses and webinars for more than 20 years and has held the SR/WA designation since 2008.

She has served in leadership roles within IRWA Chapter 65, Region 8, the International Governing Council, and multiple international committees. Sharon was IRWA’s International President in 2020–2021 and currently serves on the Advisory Committee, is an IRWA CLIMB‑certified instructor, and chairs the International Relations Committee.
