The Daniel Blanchard Professional Development Memoriam is established in memory of International Right of Way Association member, Danny Blanchard, SR/WA who passed away on August 5, 2016 unexpectedly at the age of 59. Funds for this Memoriam were committed for the following 5 years, in the amount of $500 annually, split between Chapter 65 and Gordon MacNair, SR/WA, and we are pleased to continue the Memoriam.
This $500 Memoriam is open to all Region 8 Members and is aimed at new professionals, or those who are working towards a professional designation who have limited financial support of employers to take courses. The funds are to be applied towards classroom orientated courses; however, in the event a course is not being held in the immediate future, can be used for on-line courses which are deemed to be required for a professional designation.
Interested parties should apply between Oct 1st and March 31st in any given year. A letter expressing interest and outlining how this Memoriam will benefit their professional development needs to be submitted to the Chapter 65 President. Chapter 65 Executive shall review all submissions and select the candidate, who will be announced at the Spring Forum.
In the event there are no submissions in any given year, the Chapter Executive in conjunction with Region 8 Presidents, shall have the right to review the Chapter Roster and select a Member from the Membership, who they feel would benefit from the Memoriam.
